During the week, it was announced that nearly 70% of new jobs created at businesses backed by Enterprise Ireland last year were outside Dublin.
Leo Varadkar commented at the launch of Enterprise Ireland’s (EI) new three-year strategy, ‘Leading In A Changing World’, stating the news was “an extraordinary performance”. He stated, “I am particularly pleased that jobs growth occurred in all regions with almost 70% of new jobs growth occurring outside of Dublin and particularly strong growth in the north-west and south-east.
It is a very interesting percentage and the future of job growth seems to be outside Dublin, which has serious problems, as to where to house workers. It may also have a positive outlook for property prices outside Dublin, with some towns and cities looking at 10% annual property price increases for at least the next 5 years.
It is something to watch for the future.
